Prayer of Thanksgiving

Father God, we thank you for this opportunity to be Thankful and for having our hearts full of Thanksgiving!  Throughout these past months, we are reminded of how faithful, loving, and merciful You are toward our families and us, now more than ever.  Your love and faithfulness covered us through the pandemic, financial hardships, challenges on our jobs, and issues in our families!  When disease, destruction, unrest, and isolation were all around us, Your love and faithfulness towards us provided direction, protection, safety and provision!  For this, O Lord, we are THANKFUL!

According to Your word in Psalms 100:4-5, We enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise!  I give thanks to You and praise Your name.  For You are good and Your love endures forever!

We give thanks to the Lord (Our God), for He is good; His love endures forever!  (Psalms 118:1) Again, we are reminded in Psalms 106:1 to give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and His mercy endureth forever!   Your love and mercy ENDURES forever!

Lord, your word in Philippians 4:6-7 tells us not to be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present our requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus.  Because of this promise of peace, we shall guard our hearts and minds!

We rejoice always, pray continually, giving thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus. (I Thess 5:16-18).  We will praise the name of God with a song and will magnify Him with thanksgiving.  This shall also please the Lord better than an ox or bullock that hath horns or huffs!   (Psalms 69:30-31).  And better than any sacrifice that we can physically conjure up!

Father, we will let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, since as members of one body we are called to peace. And be thankful. We will let the message of Christ dwell among us richly as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in our hearts. And in all that we do, whether in word or deed, we will do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (Col 3:15-17)

Father, we close this petition, not only honoring and thanking You for your goodness to Your people, but we pray this prayer will permeate our hearts at all times so that we will never be amiss or forget to thank You at any time.  Let a posture of thanksgiving prick our hearts and remain our stance towards You forevermore!  In Jesus’ name Amen!
